What an unforgettable day we had at Iron Horse Square in Mineola on May 17, 2025! Families from all around came out to enjoy the charming mini train rides and the whimsical train-themed playground that kept kids laughing and playing all afternoon. A special shout-out to the amazing ladies of the Wood County Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society—your reading-themed activities were a huge hit and brought so much joy and learning to the little ones! If you missed it, don’t worry—there’s more fun on the tracks! Mark your calendars for June 7th and get ready for the Pilot Club’s Scavenger Hunt Train. It promises to be a day of adventure, discovery, and community spirit that you won’t want to miss!

The Mineola Police Department is actively participating in the statewide "Click It or Ticket" enforcement campaign. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is intensifying seat belt enforcement through its annual "Click It or Ticket" campaign, which runs from May 19 to June 1, 2025. This initiative coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, a peak travel period, and is part of the broader All-American enforcement campaign by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). In addition to Easter festivities, we welcome the fun activities brought by the Fannie Marchman Garden Club at our Mini Train run Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.. We’re grateful the garden club is carrying this on this weekend since our first run was rained out! It will be a Family Fun Day!

Residents can also seek assistance through the Benefits Assistance Program, which helps eligible individuals apply for services such as SNAP, Medicaid, and CHIP. The City encourages residents to learn more about available food assistance programs and ways to get involved.
